Donald Jerry Orchard was born on March 23, 1959 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born deaf and attended the school for the deaf and blind in Gooding, Idaho. He left us on August 25, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. He was a very special child of God, sent to earth. Where he shared his love of life with everyone he met. His gift of charity was given to all. He would give you the shirt off his back to help others.
As a boy, he had fun catching frogs, lizards, and mice. He loved riding his bike and hanging out with his family. His hobby was being a historian of all the U.S. Presidents. He could tell you everything about them, including the name of their pets. His favorite actor was Jerry Lewis. He learned to imitate his facial impressions and always made us laugh acting out the scenes from his favorite movies. You could see him walking downtown or at the library, reading.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry Orchard; his father, Gerald Orchard; and grandparents, Henry and Helen Nelson, Ned McPherson, Joseph and Betty Orchard. He is survived by his mother Helen Marie Garner (Dennis), sister Nedra Green (Curtis); brother, Joseph Orchard (Sheila); sister, Vicki Orchard, and sister Ellamay Anderson (Jody); brother Darryl Humburg and various nieces and nephews.
Jerry, you were loved by family, friends, and strangers alike. Your passing has left a hole in our hearts, and you will be missed. We look forward to the day we will be re-united, and we can hug and kiss your face.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Cemetery section 34 East Row 30 Space 3, Pocatello, Idaho.
