McCammon - Diane Lauraine Wiegman, 58, of McCammon, passed away Sunday, evening April 20, 2008 at her home from an apparent heart attack. She was born April 24, 1949 in Watertown, New York, a daughter of William Shirley and Etta Elnora Sykes Weldon.
When she was a young girl, her family moved to Orlando, Florida. While in high school there, she met a young man named Wayne Wiegman who had recently moved to Orlando from New Mexico. They became high school sweethearts and graduated from Colonial High School in Orlando. Diane went on to attend the University of Florida at Gainsville, for two years.
On August 30, 1969, she and Wayne Wiegman were married in Orlando, Florida. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden, Utah L.D.S. Temple. Following their marriage, they lived in Morocco (Northern Africa) for 2 years as Wayne was stationed there in the Navy. They moved to McCammon in 1976 where they have resided for 32 years. Diane was an exceptional seamstress and a professional at needle and hand work. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and had served valiantly in many callings including, Relief Society, Library and Nursery Leader which she dearly loved. She loved her family more than anything else and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne L. Wiegman, McCammon; her mother, Etta Weldon Stewart, Bell, Florida; 5 sons, Jeremy Wayne (Debbie) Wiegman, Hyrum, Utah; Benjamin Isaac (Mandi) Wiegman, Tetonia, Idaho; Jonathon Daniel Wiegman, Pocatello; Peter William (Sharla Lynn) Wiegman, Inkom, Idaho; David Lawrence Wiegman, Logan, Utah; 3 daughters, Ellen Marie (Craig) Rasmussen, Hyrum, Utah; Rebekka Elizabeth (Clark) Christensen, Preston, Idaho; Sara Anne Wiegman, Jackson, Wyoming; a brother, David Shirley (Linda) Weldon, Orlando, Florida; 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the McCammon L.D.S. Stake Center with Bishop Ivan Bullock, of the McCammon Ward officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Norton Cemetery at McCammon. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
