Dennis Lynn Hess

Chubbuck- Dennis Lynn Hess, 70, of Chubbuck, Idaho (formerly Tyhee area), returned home to his Heavenly Father early Sunday, November 28, 2010 with his family by his side.

He was born March 13, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Earl and Birdie Wynn Hess. He attended Tyhee Elementary, Alameda Junior High and later completed his education while in the National Guard/Army.

He married Julia(Judy) McLain Hess on March 7, 1980. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple.

He and Judy spent the next 31 wonderful years raising 3 children, and enjoyed their life together. He loved being with his family, traveling, but most of all he enjoyed being with his grandchildren, neighbor children or Judy's children from school. The more children he was around the more laughs he had and the more he enjoyed life.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, and three chidden; Brandon (Tiffany) Byrd, Blackfoot; Karla Hess (Avis) Daniels; Carlos "Bo" Hess; all of Chubbuck; two brothers, Dale Hess and Harry Hess; one sister, Ethel Hathaway all of Pocatello; 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountainview Cemetery (Section 53 West), Pocatello with military rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to graveside services.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance and Troy Bell & Staff at Quinn Meadows Rehab and Care Center. Also a special thanks to Tyhee School Faculty & Staff, Richard and Patty Wheatley & Staff at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel and all of Dennis and Judy's dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of your choice.
