Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Mentor, and Friend.

1953-2011, Son of Max and Dorothy Johnson, brother of Brent, Dennis, Suzan, and Joyce. Born December 26th, 1953 in Pocatello, Idaho to a family of great faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dave had a personality that could be described as infinite. He was a strong independent, dependable, hard working man who was always there to listen, care, and love his family through all of life's challenges.

Dave married Becky Ann Barlow September 13, 1974 and had four daughters, Melyssa, Sarah, Tracy and Angela. Later divorced and then married Kolay Cecelia Anderson September 28th, 1984 and had three sons, Trevor, Colter, and Jared. Soon after, Dave embarked on a journey of building a beautiful house that his family calls a loving home up Webb Canyon in Inkom Idaho. Together all of them enjoyed many outdoor activities including skiing, camping, rafting, hiking, kayaking, hunting and straight up family fun.

Dave served selflessly in the community gaining friendships, love and respect along the way. Dave was a member of the National Ski Patrol at the Pebble Creek Ski Resort for 36 years. As the Patrol Director, he was the cornerstone in organizing the construction of the patrol lodge. He gave countless hours on the hill as a Mountaineer, OEC, and Avalanche instructor. Dave had a passion for more than just his own children. He put so much effort towards coaching any youth that crossed his path. He had a talent for acting and always loved participating in the Forgotten Carols with the local LDS Church. Dave loved Kayaking the Idaho rivers. Including, the Salmon, Middle Fork, Lochsa, Jarbridge, Bruno, and Murtaugh.

After a long and hard battle with Cancer, Dave passed away peacefully Tuesday April 19th 2011 at his home in Inkom, Idaho surrounded by his wife, sons and daughters. No matter what Dave loved and believed in the Lord. He had a special talent for seeing the hand of God in everything.

Dave is survived by his mother, Dorothy Johnson, Inkom, His wife Kolay Johnson, Inkom, His six children, Melyssa (Nick) Adams, Nampa, Tracy (Chad) Coltrin, Meridian, Angela (Frank) Elordi, Elko, NV., Trevor Johnson, Inkom, Colter Johnson, Inkom, Jared Johnson, Inkom. His Eight Granddaughters, Paige Adams, Sidnee Coltrin, Alexis Coltrin, Ashlee Coltrin, Ella Adams, Hattie Adams, Emma Elordi, and Ellie Elordi. His brothers and sisters, Brent (Kathy) Johnson, Dennis (Sheila) Johnson, Suzan (Kurttis) Smith, Joyce (Rich) Higham and his faithful friend, his dog Zeus. He was preceded in death by his father Max Johnson, and daughter Sarah Johnson.

A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Rapid Creek Ward LDS Chapel at 150 Snow Peak Blvd, Inkom, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rapid Creek Ward Chapel with Bishop John C. McNabb officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Private family interment will be held Sunday afternoon April 24, 2011. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
