Idaho Falls- Dale Vern Kidney, 79, longtime resident of Pocatello passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1932 in Akron , Colorado, the son of Walter Ray and Josephine Kidney.
He attended schools in Colorado. He then moved to Tremonton, Utah.
He married Joan Marie Williams Porter on August 9, 1962 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Joan passed away April 13, 1984. He later married Florence Walker on February 16, 2006 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He moved to the Pocatello area in 1959. He worked in the sugar factory at Garland, Utah, Lamb Weston,and was a truck driver. He enjoyed going to the rodeos. He participated in the calf roping and team roping. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and dancing. He greatly enjoyed listening to country music.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Florence W. Kidney; two sons, Fred (Helen) Kidney, Spokane, Washington; Allen Kidney, Tacoma, Washington; step-son; Randy Walker, Idaho Falls; two daughters, Eva (Steven) Koch, Pocatello; Patty (Gary) Oneida, Pocatello; two step daughters, Linda (Jim) Beard, Idaho Falls; Julie (Bill) Grosser, Meridian, Idaho; two sisters, Vira Lewton, Joanna Campenilla, both of Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Joan, his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a son, Gerald "Butch" Porter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel and on Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
