Curtis Neil Peckham II 68 passed away July 12th, 2022, in Pocatello, ID with his family by his side.
Curtis was born in Boulder City, NV to Curtis Neil Peckham and Johnnie Sue Tanner on May 25, 1954. He attended school in Henderson, Nevada graduating from Basic High School in 1973. After graduation he spent time in the Nevada circuit rodeos riding several of the fiercest broncos and bulls. He later joined the U.S. Army serving on active duty from 1973-1975. Curtis later moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he raised his two daughters, Cassondra, and Nikole. He spent many years as a steel fabricator at Steel West before dedicating the remainder of his career to the Pocatello Fire Department where he would retire as a Captain in 2006. Curtis knew the importance of education and worked on it throughout his career obtaining an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 and a Bachelor of Art and Science in General Studies from Idaho State University in 2011. Curtis was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, canoeing, hunting and his Labradors. He was devoted to the brotherhood of Viet Nam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club for 14 years through which he contributed to the welfare of the community and veterans in need. He was also a man of faith and attended Gate City Christian Church for many years and recently rededicated his life making his home with his wife DaNett at Inkom Community Bible Church. Curtis enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Curtis N. Peckham, his mother, Johnny Sue Tanner and his brother, Rob (Babe) Peckham and his late wife Jaqueline Query and is survived by his loving wife DaNett Peckham, brothers Jim and Arlan (Bridget) Peckham, and sister Kathy (Tim) Gallup, daughters Cassondra (Jason) Irvin and Nikole Peckham, Stepdaughter Kandy Blackburn and grandchildren, Ivy Jade, Mykelti, Willow, Rhia, Kaden, Thalia, Jaylen, and Cameron.
Services will be held at the Inkom Cemetery on July 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at Inkom Community Bible Church.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Portneuf Cancer Center and Heritage Hospice for their support in his final days. Curtis will be dearly missed, and his legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
