Connie Elizabeth Powell

Denver, CO. - Connie Elizabeth Beus Powell, 65, of Denver, Colorado and formerly of Pocatello, passed away Monday, morning November 23, 2009 at a medical center in Denver following an illness. Connie was born May 28, 1944 at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her Mom and Dad took her home to live in Lewisville, Idaho with them And her older Sister LuGean. I'm sure she was happy being the youngest in the family Until her little Sister Beverly Beus came along. Connie seemed to be frail and sickly as an infant and was showered with a great deal of love and concern.

She became a very beautiful , healthy and powerful young woman. She was in Pep Club and on the Honor Roll every year in High School. She worked some evenings every week Night as the local A&W Root Beer Stand. She loved the Public and had a very high work ethic. After Graduation she attended one semester at Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho, then returned home to ISU for one semester.

She married Hugh Douglas Powell in 1964 and they had a Son, Kenneth Wayne Powell, born July 18, 1968 in Denver, Colo. They were later divorced. She raised her Son with Love and Joy.

Connie stayed in Denver at worked at Leo's Place, renowned restaurant, keeping the Books for many years. She worked for many different CPA's through the years. She also had her own business at one time in her home doing Taxes and Payroll for different Business's. She was working for Raizen, Brenner & Koll at the time of her death. She loved accounting and and was magical with numbers. She had Spread Sheets all over her house.

She had many wonderful friends during her life and was honestly grateful for each and every one. She had a heart gold and the most contagious laugh and the Sweetest Spirit. She is deeply loved and will be deeply missed. Until we meet again, Mom, Sister & Friend!

She is survived by her son Kenneth, her sister Beverly VanBrunt, three nieces, two nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her older sister LuGean, two nephews, James C. Egbert and Jerry Beus Egbert, and one great nephew Jerom Harris.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday the day of the funeral from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
