Pocatello - Clarence Schouten, 85, passed away at a local hospital due to natural causes on November 11, 2009. Clarence is survived by his wife Betty Schouten, two brothers, six children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Clarence was born in Waupun, Wisconsin Jan. 27th, 1924 to Wilhemina Vanderstreek and Raymond Schouten. He was the second youngest of six children: Grace, Arnold,
He attended Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music where he studied Theology. He served in the Air Force in WWII performing Meteorology and Cartography and received a Victory Medal in 1946.
In 1949 he married Betty Jane Jones in Grand Rapids Michigan and were celebrating their 60th anniversary.
He loved the west, mountains, exploring ghost towns, rock hunting, and hidden trails with his family. His passion however was spreading God's word and in-depth bible studies, especially the reformation. A celebration of life will occur at Highland Hills Assisted Living this Sunday, Nov. 15th from 2-4 PM. Flowers and sentiments can be addressed to Betty Schouten at Highland Hills.
