Charlene N. Hartman

Charlene N. Hartman passed away peacefully surrounded by her three sons and family on June 3, 2023 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Charlene was born on December 16, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Lamar Nelson and Inez Stark, the oldest of two girls.  She grew up on a farm in Clinton, Utah, later the family moved to Roy.  She graduated from Weber High School in Ogden in 1953.  She attended one year of college at Weber State University and later met her future husband, Kim Hartman.  They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake City temple in 1956.  They built their first home in Roy, Utah where they welcomed two sons.  In 1963 they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where they had their third son.

Charlene was a stay-at-home mom as she raised her three boys.  She was a completely devoted mom and wife who was the ultimate homemaker. She was the epitome of a loving mom, herlife revolved totally around her husband and three boys.  She loved to bowl, play hearts and board games with close friends,snowmobiling in Island Park and attending all the sporting events that her kids were involved with throughout their lives.

In 1975, Kim and Charlene relocated to Pocatello, Idaho and spent nine months building their own home in the Highland area.  Charlene was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life.  She served as a Relief Society president, compassionate service leader, cared for and ministered to her friends and neighbors.  She and Kim served a service mission in the Pocatello West stake.

Charlene sold Avon over twenty years, earning the award of Presidents Club many times and making numerous friends during that period of her life.  Some of her many talents and passions were decorating her home, floral arranging,meticulously maintaining a perfect yard and garden and she was a great seamstress. She always knew her kid’s and grandkid’s favorite treats and would have them readily available to spoil them.  She loved them all dearly and truly would sacrifice everything for her family.

During their later years Charlene and Kim’s lives were heavilyinvolved around the activities and sporting events of their grandchildren.  In the eyes of her grandchildren, she was the perfect grandma, she spoiled them when they visited and especially every Christmas season.  They each thought they were her favorite.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kim, her sister Joyce and daughter in law Jolene Hartman.

She is survived by her son Rodney (Debbie) of St. George, Kirk (Jolene, deceased) Chubbuck and Kim (Sheri) Pocatello. Ninegrandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Symbii Home Health and Hospice, especially Jessica, Dr. Bailey and Grace Assisted Living for the compassionate care of our mom.

There will a viewing at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Home Thursday June 8th, 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

A graveside service will take place Friday June 9th. at 11am at Mountainview Cemetery.
