Cecil "Bud" A. Lish

Pocatello - Cecil Allen 'Bud" Lish, 86, longtime resident of Pocatello passed away Tuesday, evening April 26, 2011 at a local care center following an extended illness.

He was born July 18, 1924 in the railroad section house at Onyx, Idaho (South of Inkom) a son of Gilbert Milo (Jim) and Linnie deVada Allen Lish. He attended schools in Inkom and Pocatello. In August 1943 he joined the U.S. Army and served in France at Allied Command Headquarters. Upon his release from the Army in May 1946 he returned to work at the P.F.E. (Pacific Fruit Express) where he had worked prior to entering the Army. He had also worked on the construction of the Naval Ordinance Plant. On April 4, 1947 he married Theda Rose Reese in Las Vegas, Nevada. Theda passed away July 31, 2001.

Bud enjoyed farming at his place North of Pocatello and also enjoyed horse racing and cutter racing. He liked camping, fishing and Scouting activities with the Scout Troop from Fort Hall. He liked watching football on dish and enjoyed attending his grandfather Claude Lish's family reunions. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Survivors include: a son Mark Allen Lish, Townsend, Montana; 2 daughters, Nora Kathryn "Kathy" (Paul) Stubbs, Pocatello, Idaho; Linnie Jean (Edward) Claver, Blackfoot, Idaho; a brother, Gilbert Rex Lish, Amarillo, Texas; 2 sisters, Juanita (Dr. Robert) Stovall, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Bonnie (Ralph) Bogar, Grand Junction, Colorado; 9 grandchildren, 17, great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Kent Cecil Lish and grandson, Heath Allen Lish.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. with Ed Reese, brother-in-law officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel and Monday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard or the charity of your choice.
