Pocatello - Carmen Kathleen Crofts Egbert, 81, of Pocatello, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 1, 2008 surrounded by her loving family following an illness.

She was born May 12, 1927 in Rexburg, Idaho, a daughter of Hyrum Paskett and Lyma Kathleen Christensen Crofts. When she was very young, her family moved to Logan, Utah, where she attended school and participated in swimming and won several awards. While living in Logan, she met her future husband Robert George Egbert. They were married April 27, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away July 9, 2007.

Carmen and George resided most of their married life in Pocatello, where she was active in the L.D.S. Church and served in many callings and particularity enjoyed the singing mothers. She also belonged to the Literary Club which she enjoyed very much. She worked for many years in the school lunch program for School District 25 at Highland High School. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and reading. She truly enjoyed her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them and all who knew her.

Survivors include: 3 sons, Robert George Jr. (Kathy) Egbert, Gilford, New Hampshire; Michael J. (Patty) Egbert, Omaha, Nebraska; Kent Joseph (Monica) Egbert, Las Vegas, Nevada; 6 daughters, Kathie Lee Fullmer, Pocatello; Suzanne (Robert) Johnson, Ft. Collins, Colorado; Janice Rae (Curtis) Johnson, Rigby, Idaho; Jeanne Lyn (Ed) Roberts, Pocatello; Lea Marie (Rodney) Price, McCammon, Idaho; Carol Diane (Steve) Pearce, Pocatello; a sister, Ruth (Joe) Green, Pocatello; 34 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister, Lois Tubbs and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 12 noon, at the Highland Third Ward (Butte and Hiskey) with Bishop Jim Lothspeich, officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
