Blanche Perry Roberts of Pocatello, passed away October 2, 2019. She was born March 7,1922 to William Daniel Perry and Ellen Elizabeth McLain in Grace, Idaho Caribou County.
She was raised with 6 sisters, Ila, Thelma, Elva, Effie, Inez, Florence and Maxine. She also had one brother that passed away at birth. She grew up on a family farm in Grace until she married.
She married Llewellyn Gardner Roberts (Bob) on November 23,1938 at age 16. They lived in Montpelier and then later moved to Pocatello where they resided till passing. They welcomed and raised a family of six children, 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 34 great-great grandchildren.
Blanche was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding several church callings. Including, Primary, a valiant visiting teacher and in the Relief Society Presidency. She really enjoyed serving others.
She was sealed to her lifetime companion in the Idaho Falls temple on July 18th, 1990. She had a strong testimony of the gospel which she shared with everyone. She was a great example to us all.
Blanche enjoyed working in several jobs including Woolworths, Newberrys, Skaggs, Pocatello Lumber, and Riverside Golf Course. Her most cherished was as a foster grandma for the Head Start program. She worked until she was 92 years old and missed it everyday until her passing.
Hobbies included quilting and embroidery, making many cherished heirlooms for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Blanche is survived by her sister, Florence Haynes of North Carolina, children Shirley (Merlin) Crockett, Karen Farmer, Betty Kay and Ronald (Deena) Roberts of Pocatello. She was proceeded in death my her parents, her husband Llewelyn Gardner Roberts, son Michael, daughter Janet Roberts, sister Maxine, and brother Rudeth.
Blanche's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who assisted with her care; Signature Home Health/Hospice and Cloud 9. She loved them all and looked forward to their visits.
The viewing will be held on Sunday October 6,2019 from 6pm-8pm at Manning- Wheatley Funeral Chapel. The funeral services, will be held on Monday October 7,2019 at the LDS Pocatello Stake Building, 655 S. Grant. There will be a viewing that morning from 10-10:45 AM with the funeral beginning at 11AM, luncheon to follow hosted by 1st ward Relief Society. Internment will be at Grace Cemetery at 3:30PM.
