Betty Lou Lewis

Betty Lou Lewis-June 21, 1928-February 9, 2024 Betty Lou Lewis, 95, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away February 9, 2024 in Pocatello, Idaho. Betty was born in Pocatello June 21, 1928 to Carl and Hannah Larson. Shortly after her birth the family purchased a farm and moved to Montana. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Charlo, Montana.

Betty would move back to Pocatello after she graduated high school and that’s when she would meet her future husband, Gerald. They were married in January of 1947 and they would have their only child, a son, Larry, in October of that year. Betty and Gerald were married for 77 years.

Mom had a couple of careers, she worked at S.H. Kress & Co., as a sales person and then at Pocatello High School, as a cafeteria worker. These jobs did not interfere with her love for camping, boating, traveling, and going to activities in which her son was involved.

Betty also loved her animals, which included several dogs and cats, these pets would travel with them on trips and to their winter campground in Arizona. Betty enjoyed the Arizona winters so much that they would become snowbirds for over 25 years. Mom often talked of all the lifetime friends they met while living at La Paz County Park, in Parker, Arizona.

Betty is survived by her husband Gerald, son Larry (Connie), Grandchildren Whitney, Nick (Kirsten), Great Grandchildren, Madeline, Abigail.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00, February 21, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery Section 29 East, in Pocatello.
