Pocatello - Betty LaVon Conlin, 83, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away Friday, morning June 4, 2010 at a local medical care center following an illness.

She was born June 6, 1926, in Salt lake City, Utah, the daughter of Herschel and Mae Priest Bowman. When she was very young, her family moved to Pocatello, where she attended schools.

On June 2, 1944, she married Ronald Paul "Blackie" Conlin in Dillion, Montana. He passed away January 10, 1984. She had several interests and hobbies including reading, walking, traveling and playing games with family members. She also collected owls. She was always very aware of her appearance and made sure her hair and nails were done. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers and staff at Hillcrest Haven, Portneuf Medical Center and the Transitional Care Unit. Betty was a member of the L.D.S. Church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald C. (Jerry) Conlin; Doug (Melody) Conlin; all of Chubbuck, Idaho; 3 daughters, Leona (Jeff) Wilson; Vicki (Ed) Davie; Debbie Davie; all of Pocatello, Idaho; a brother, Herschel Bowman; Pocatello, Idaho; 2 sisters, Donna Anderson; Dorothy (Terry) Cox; all of Chubbuck, Idaho. 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son in-law, Ern Davie.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. with a family friend Kim Guymon, officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
