Pocatello - Beth Bybee Bloxham, 90, long time resident of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in her home at The Gables surrounded by family.
She was born June 27, 1921 in Downey, Idaho to William Dow Bybee and Mildred Wise Bybee.
She attended school in Downey and graduated from Downey High School where she was involved in many activities. On December 13, 1939, she married Don Devere Bloxham in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
While in Pocatello, she helped work in her husband's automotive machine shop, D&B Machine. She also worked at the Bannock Hotel, Stouffers Restaurant and for the Pocatello School District.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings including, Visiting Teacher, Primary President, Young Women's President, Relief Society President and Stake Primary President. She served a full-time mission with her husband Don in the Canada-Vancouver Mission and in the Idaho Falls Temple for over 10 years. She loved serving the Lord.
Her interests included dancing, oil painting, quilting, cooking, working in the yard, going to BYU football games, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include 3 children: son, Don D. (DeLone) Bloxham, Springville, Utah; son, Scott (Linda) Bloxham, Burley, Idaho; daughter, Denise (Daniel) Balls, Pocatello, Idaho; 1 sister, Ella Hancock, Pocatello, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents William and Mildred Bybee; 4 brothers, Vern Bybee, Reece Bybee, Dick Bybee, Guy Winters; 1 granddaughter, Kimberli Bloxham
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Chapel (5425 Bannock Highway) in Pocatello with Bishop Michael P. Ellis of the Indian Hills Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the L.D.S. Church Humanitarian Aid or the Perpetual Education Fund. The family would also like to thank the staff at The Gables for their care and love to our mother.
