La Grande, Oregon - Barbara Lee Jacobs, age 74, of La Grande, Oregon and formerly of Pocatello, Idaho, died December 7, 2007 at a foster home in La Grande.

Mrs. Jacobs was born on March 16, 1933, the daughter of Elton Eugene and Madeline (Atkinson) Lindsey in Pocatello, Idaho. Barbara grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Patrick Jacobs on January 12, 1952 in Pocatello. Barbara was the wife of a US Marine and they lived at Camp Pendleton and then moved to Parris Island, South Carolina for 16 years. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1971. Four years ago she moved to La Grande from Kingsman, Arizona to be near family. She loved salmon fishing and enjoyed square dancing and the holidays. She was a collector of many types of knick knacks.

Survivors include her children, Dan Jacobs of Pocatello, Mike Jacobs of La Grande, Sam Jacobs of Pocatello, Vikki Rock of La Grande, Rick Jacobs of Meridian and Lindsey Brooks of Las Angeles; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Gene Lindsey of Hermiston; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Lindsey.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel. Arrangements in La Grande, Oregon were entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
