Pocatello- Arlene Ricks Hudson Richardson Pierce, 97, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at a local care center.

She was born July 16, 1911 at Sugar City, Idaho, the daughter of Lester and Irma Deane Ross Ricks.

She attended schools in Sugar City, Idaho and Rigby, Idaho. She attended Grimms Business School in Pocatello.

She married William Henry Hudson on Sept. 18, 1929 in Rupert, Idaho. He passed away Oct. 10, 1956. She then married Ted Richardson and later married Glenn Pierce.

She worked at Wintergreens, Hudson Shoe Store and then was office secretary at Golob Oil Company for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed bowling until she was 83 and was playing bridge until she was 88. She served on the committee to organized AARP's in Pocatello. She was very active in the Republican Party. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and had served in the Primary. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Gaylord (LaVaun) Hudson, Pocatello Idaho; Gordon (Elaine) Hudson,Pocatello, Idaho; one sister Veda Labbee, Pocatello, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 daughter, and 2 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Meadowbrook L.D.S. Chapel (300 E. Chapel Street) with Bishop Ramey Remington officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery.
