Albert Newton Whitworth

“So Long now, old Buddy. It’s time for you to go. Just when we get our notice is something we don’t know.”

Albert Newton Whitworth’s journey came to a close in the early morning hours of September 24, 2021, at his home in Inkom, Idaho, at the the age of 88.

Albert was born in his Grandmother’s log cabin, next to Rapid Creek on May 16, 1933 in Inkom, Idaho. To the parents of Francis Whitworth and Kathrine Olson Whitworth. Albert was the third of five children

Albert was raised in the Chesterfield area where he attended school. He attended Bancroft High School where he played on the basketball team, his love of the sport earned him three college scholarships his senior year. As much as he loved basketball his heart was set on riding for the cattle association in Chesterfield.

In 1956 he married Jeroldine Holbrook, together they had three beautiful daughters, LaRaela, Lori, and Kimberly. They were later divorced.

On June 26, 1968, Albert married the love of his life, Karen Girard. From that marriage he gained two beautiful step daughters, Tamera and Brenda. In his early years he worked for the Cattle Association, various ranchers and the Forest Service from which he retired from in 1993

Albert enjoyed trapping, hunting, gardening and landscaping. Albert and Karen were known for their beautiful yard and handmade yard decorations.

Chances are if you knew Albert, you know a story that involves a horse. He passed his love of horses on to his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We knew if we were going to Grandpa’s house we got to ride the horses. His greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed many family hunting and camping trips and helping his grandchildren with 4-H. Albert was the epitome of hard work. His daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren spent a lot of time pulling weeds in his garden, yardwork and picking up bales of hay while Albert drove his truck like a bat outta hell through the pasture while everyone else was expected to load the the hay bales at a breakneck pace. His crazy driving was no excuse for shotty stacking.

Albert was survived by his wife Karen, sister Iris Bernier, daughters LaRaela Scott (Barry), Kimberly Doig (Jim), son in law Kevin Klitguard, stepdaughters Tamara Kent (Wesley) and Brenda Wilson (Brad) , Ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  Albert was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Darla, Steven, Marvin and Arden, and daughter Lori Kay Whitworth.
