Agnes C. Jones

Agnes Catherine Jones, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2020.  Agnes was born on August 26, 1927, at her grandma Whitworth’s home in Inkom Idaho.  She was named after both of her grandmothers, whom she loved dearly.  She was born to Charles and Eliza Hagler.  She had six siblings, Charles, James, Mary, Kenneth, Harold, and her baby brother John Fredrick who died as an infant.  They were raised by Dan Shaffer and her mother, Eliza, in Inkom, Idaho.  On September 13, 1945, she married the love of her life, Gerald Jones.  They moved to Pocatello and raised their three children, Marilyn, David and Teresa.  On June 7, 2013, Agnes and Gerald were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls temple.

Agnes was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.  She’s preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, her 5 brothers and a grandson.

Agnes worked at Idaho State University as a custodian in the administration building and the Eli Oboler Library.  She retired from Idaho State University on May 5, 1987.  She enjoyed going on rides to see ISU campus in her later years with her husband.

Agnes enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her kids and grandkids.

We all loved Agnes and will miss her very much.  She touched many hearts and always had unconditional love for her friends and family.  She always found ways to serve her family, friends and neighbors.
