Pocatello, Idaho- Abner "Ace" Chester Rentelman, 78, longtime resident of Pocatello passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at a care center in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He was born July 1, 1934 in Bonesteel, South Dakota, the son of Howard Dale and Mona Mary Reynolds Rentelman.
He attended schools in Bonesteel, South Dakota, Portland,Oregon and Jerome, Idaho.
He married Anna Jeanne Shaw in Elko, Nevada, on January 13, 1962. He joined the United States Air Force where he received his G.E D. . He served in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) in Japan and Okinawa during the Korean War. After moving to Pocatello, he worked for Purina for 18 years. He then worked for FMC for 25 years retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, politics and especially watching football on T.V.
Ace is survived by his wife, Anna J. Rentelman, Pocatello, Idaho; two sons, Andrew C. (Sherrie) Rentelman, Pocatello, Idaho; Carl H. Rentelman, partner, Michael Croy, Pocatello, Idaho; one daughter, Diana J. Rentelman, Pocatello, Idaho; one brother, Charles Rentelman, Jerome, Idaho; two sisters, Nadine Lilly, Gresham, Oregon,; Mary Isley, Pendleton, Oregon; 7 grandchildren, Anthony (Tabitha) Rentelman, Bryan Ellis, LeAnna Ellis, Valorie Ellis, Dianne Markley, Stacy (Casey) Castaneda, Adam (Misty) Rentelman; 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
