He served a mission in Georgia for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He met Rita Martin in Chubbuck at the 7-Eleven in 1978, and immediately knew that he had found the love of his life. After asking her out several times, Rita finally agreed to go on a date with Royce. After several dates, Royce asked Rita to marry him, and they were married in June of 1979. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple in 1980.
Royce worked in the semiconductor industry, and Rita stayed at home and raised their two children. They had William in 1980, followed by Rose in 1983. She earned her Nail Technician Certificate from Idaho State University in her late 50’s. She enjoyed playing darts with her daughter Rose, and was fondly known as “Mom” by her friends.
They are survived by their two children, William Martin and his wife Shayla Martin, and Rose Fryar and her wife Jenn Fryar, and their children Kendall and Piper.
