Pocatello - Linda Jane Sykes, 58, of Pocatello passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Portneuf Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was born February 4, 1949 in Soda Springs, Idaho a daughter of Leo Edwin and Aleda Pauline Grimm Shamburg. She attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Highland High School in 1967. She married David T. Sykes, August 17, 1975 in Pocatello. He passed away July 7, 2002.

She lived in the Bancroft, Idaho area for many years and returned to Pocatello in 2003. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church. She liked fishing, hunting and camping. She also enjoyed cooking, riding horses and attending rodeo's.

She is survived by a daughter, Misty D. Sykes, Pocatello; 2 step-daughters, Cindy (Oz) Rigby, Kimberly, Idaho; Tracy (Travis) Riley, Boise, Idaho; a step-son, Todd Davis Sykes, Idaho Falls, Idaho; a half sister, Deanna (Mike) Cibolski, Concordia, Kansas; 2 grandchildren Keisha Dawn Murdoch and Crystal Frances Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jimmy Shamburg, a stillborn daughter and a stillborn granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.. The family will receive Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
